My name is Jim Buthman. I have a lived in the West for the majority of my adult life with some stints in Chicago, where I was born and raised, and Florida, thrown in the mix. I have lived in Flagstaff, Arizona since 1995. I arrived after I had biked from Florida to Michigan and met up with a buddy with whom I moved out here. That's another story but, our car broke down, we didn't have the money to fix it, and here I am twelve years later in a wonderful town in Northern Arizona. I have a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in Political Science and a master's degree from Northern Arizona University. I am currently considering getting a PhD in political science at Northern Arizona University. I've worked in many jobs, including managing small hotels, sales, and, most recently, a finance manager at a Toyota dealership. I am a Democrat and a liberal and I wear those labels with pride. I am currently self-employed (or trying to be) as a writer and blogger and I am working on a book.
