There are many of us who have different views and ideas. A fundamental right of a democratic nation is the right to express opinions and to disagree with those in power, to even attack those in power if we so choose. That is not a reality in many other nations.
Hugo Chavez, in the name of "reform", is advocating a set of publicly voted on initiatives that will provide Chavez power for life. The state run television and the efforts of those in power are devoting great deals of efforts that will saddle that nation with one ultimately powerful leader for decades to come.
Russia is experiencing a similar set of issues. Putin is going to run for prime minister since he could not be President again, so he'll wait out the time and govern through a puppet until it works for him to come out and take the reigns of power again.
There are many things that need reform here in the U.S. but President George W. Bush will be gone in a little over a year. and whoever is elected next will only last at most eight years. George Washington was indeed a great and wise man, leaving when his time was due.
